IPL 2022: RCB vs GT Preview – A win imminent for RCB’s survival

The Royal Challengers Bangalore will be locking horns with the in-form Gujarat Titans in Match 67 of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 19. Both teams will be heading into this contest on the back of contrasting results in their previous encounters. While RCB suffered a humiliating 54-run loss against the Punjab Kings, Gujarat registered a convincing seven wicket win over the Chennai Super Kings.

The huge loss against PBKS has derailed RCB’s campaign and just a mere win will not be good enough to earn a playoff berth for them. Apart from beating the Titans by a bigger margin, Bangalore must also hope that the other results work in their favor as well if they are to seal a playoff berth for a third straight season.

More importantly, they must click as a unit instead of relying on individual performances. While Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been the most consistent performer with the ball, having registered 23 wickets to his name, veteran middle-order superstar Dinesh Karthik has turned out to be RCB’s savior with the bat, having remained unbeaten in eight out of 13 games.

GT, on the other hand, have been outstanding in the last two games with both batters and bowlers clicking as a unit. In fact, they became the very first team to make the IPL 2022 playoffs. They would be hoping for a perfect dress rehearsal ahead of the playoffs by knocking the Royal Challengers Bangalore out of the competition.

Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Gujarat Titans Predicted XI

Royal Challengers Bangalore

The Royal Challengers Bangalore would possibly not be making any changes in their playing XI despite batting megastar Virat Kohli struggling with form throughout the season. He would once again be opening the innings along with skipper Faf du Plessis.

Gujarat Titans

The Gujarat Titans might be hoping to test their bench strength in this inconsequential clash. They would now be looking forward to benching Matthew Wade and give a maiden IPL cap to Afghanistan’s young wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
