IPL 2023: 3 Players GT might pick at the auction

Gujarat Titans (GT) won the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in their debut season in the tournament. The likes of captain Hardik, Shubman, Rashid, Miller and Mohammed Shami were top performers for the champions last season. They were all retained by the franchise for the upcoming season.

GT have a strong squad and enter the upcoming auction with INR 19.25 crore in the purse. They will target a wicketkeeper batter and a pace bowler to strengthen the squad further.

The experienced English batter ranks sixth in the current ICC T20I Batter’s chart and has been in excellent form lately. He can add stability to GT’s middle-order and the champions can win his signature for a base price of INR 1.5 crore. Malan smashed 134 runs against Australia in the first ODI last month.

Narayan Jagadeesan

Gujarat Titans are likely to target a wicketkeeper batter as a long-term project in the upcoming auction. Both Wriddhiman Saha and Matthew Wade are unlikely to be in the squad after the 2023 edition. Narayan Jagadeesan was released by Chennai Super Kings ahead of the upcoming auction and the player then burst into big performances in domestic cricket to prove his worth. The wicketkeeper batter has set a base price of INR 20 lakh but expect a fierce bidding war for the in-form batter.

Joshua Little

Gujarat Titans traded Lockie Ferguson to Kolkata Knight Riders while rhey also released backup pace options Dominic Drakes and Varun Aaron and now are in need of a pacer. Joshua Little fits their profile perfectly and is likely to end up playing for the champion next season. He is leading the bowling chart with the highest 39 wickets from 26 T20I innings in 2022 and is expected to earn big bucks in the auction.
