The off-spinner did not have a great outing on his IPL debut as he ended up giving away 34 runs in three overs at an economy of 11.33. Ninan picked up the wicket of Sunny Sohail as his maiden IPL wicket. The make matters worse for Ninan, RCB ended up losing the game as they failed to chase 176 and could only reach 142/9.

2. Varun Chakravarthy (1/35, 3 overs), economy – 11.7 PBKS vs KKR, IPL 2019

Before wreaking havoc with his mystery spin playing for KKR in 2020, Chakravarthy was taken to the cleaners by his future team on his IPL debut. The 27-year-old ended up giving away 35 runs in his three-over spell and picked up the wicket of Nitish Rana. Chakravarthy also did not taste victory on his debut as Punjab Kings failed to chase 219 and could only reach 190/4.

1. Gunroor Brar (0/42, 3 overs, economy – 14) PBKS vs LSG, IPL 2023

The 22-year-old was taken to the cleaners during his IPL debut against Lucknow Super Giants as he was hammered for 42 runs in three overs without picking any wicket. Brar was at the receiving end of a complete carnage by LSG as they recorded the second-highest score in IPL history i.e. 257/5.
