IRE vs IND: Dublin – 1st T20I Venue stats

After losing the five-match T20 international series 3-2 against West Indies in West Indies, Team India, minus their star players, travel to Ireland to face them in a three-match series beginning on Friday, August 18th, 2023 at The Village in Dublin. The second and final encounter will also be staged at the very same venue on August 20 and 23. The Asian giants will be led by their lethal seamer Jasprit Bumrah who is back after a long injury lay-off. On the other hand, the home side will be captained by the experienced campaigner and veteran Paul Stirling. ‘

Talking about India’s recent performance in the Caribbean, Hardik Pandya-led side lost the T20I series as the Men in Maroon bounced back after losing the Test and ODI series. The home side won the first two matches before India came roaring back to snatch two back-to-back victories to level it 2-2.

Speaking about the Irish side, they last participated in a bilateral series against Bangladesh in Bangladesh in March end this year. Having already lost the series, Ireland claimed a consolation victory in the third and final game to avoid a whitewash.

Ireland’s first-ever encounter at the venue came back in 2015 when they faced Hong Kong and suffered a defeat. Interestingly, their last game at this ground came against India last year when they lost a close fixture by a narrow margin of just four runs. Notably, India toured Ireland in 2022 for a two-match series which they won 2-0.

India’s first game at the stadium came five years back in 2018 when they defeated the home side by a big margin of 76 runs. The Asian side has a 100% record at the venue as they are also unbeaten against the Irish in the shortest international format.
