Jason Holder opens up on the camaraderie in the West Indies dressing room

Jason Holder produced an outstanding performance in the five-match T20I series between West Indies and England. The right arm pace bowler scalped 15 wickets in the series and also won the Player of the Series award. And now, Holder has opened up on the camaraderie within the West Indies camp. Holder said that he now feels very close to the team, and revealed that there is positive energy in the dressing room.

“For me, this is the closest that I’ve felt a group be in a very, very long time. Honest to God, the energy I felt from the meetings… most contributions I’ve ever seen in a West Indies dressing room. Even though you might not understand a certain decision, everybody’s still buying in with it,” said Jason Holder as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

We have to strive to be consistent: Jason Holder

Jason Holder further heaped praises on the West Indies side and said that even though there were players who did not get the opportunity to feature in the playing XI, they did not sulk. Adding that this spirit shows the kind of camaraderie within the West Indies setup, Holder opined that the ‘Men in Maroon’ should strive to produce consistent performances on the field.

“Tough luck to the guys who didn’t really get the opportunity but they never showed it: I ain’t seen a boy sulk. That says a lot about the camaraderie and the strength of the unit. I don’t think it’s a finished product and we’ve got to strive to be consistent,” added Holder.

Holder further said that nothing is impossible, and added that the players should continue to be happy for the success of other players in the side. The 30-year-old concluded by stating that he is pleased with the wicket-taking ability of the ‘Men in Maroon’.

“Nothing is impossible. We’ve got to believe that nothing is impossible and continue to be happy for one another’s success and continue to build as a team. I was just pleased with the consistency in terms of the wicket-taking column,” concluded Holder.
