Jhulan Goswami speaks about the environment in Mumbai Indians camp

Jhulan Goswami shared some glimpses of what’s happening at Mumbai Indians’ training sessions as the team intensifies preparation ahead of the upcoming Women’s Premier League 2023. Mumbai Indians started training on Saturday (February 25) and held their second session on Sunday.

The former Indian bowler was appointed as the bowling coach and mentor for the Mumbai-based franchise earlier this month. She joined the training session on Sunday alongside India’s national team captain Harmanpreet Kaur.

Jhulan, humble as always, said that no one is a legend when they enter the ground. Mumbai’s squad is a good mixture of youngsters and international starts. Jhulan further added that the team is connecting well on the field as a team.

“When we come to the ground, no one’s a legend. It’s about focusing on our work. The manner in which the girls put in the effort today, the way they were on the field as a team, the communication, we tried to connect with them as well,” Jhulan was quoted as saying by News18.

Jhulan mentioned that the intensity level was high on the second day was very high. Overall, it was a positive and beneficial experience for everyone involved.

“There was a lot of fun, lot of fun activities were going on, so it was good, On a second day intensity level is so high, It was a good experience,” she added.

Mumbai Indians start preparations for WPL 2023

Mumbai Indians, is one of the most successful teams in the Indian Premier League. The women’s team will be looking on replicating the same success in the inaugural edition of WPL. Harmanpreet is likely to captain the team with some of the biggest T20 names in the squad. Natalie Sciver, Hayley Matthews, Chloe Tryon, and Amelia Kerr are among the overseas stars alongside Isabelle Wong and Heather Graham.

Apart from Harmanpreet, pace all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar and batter Yastika Bhatia are the only Indian cricketers in the Mumbai Indians’ squad, who were part of the Indian team in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. Mumbai Indians will clash against Gujarat Giants in the tournament’s opening clash on March 4.
