KL Rahul donates INR 31 Lakh for the bone marrow transplant surgery of a budding cricketer

Indian cricketer KL Rahul has donated a sum of INR 31 Lakh to an 11-year-old boy named Varad for his bone marrow transplant surgery. Through GiveIndia, Rahul got to know about Varad’s fundraiser for the operation.

Varad’s parents did not have the required money for the surgery, and that is when the Indian cricketer decided to lend a helping hand. Rahul said that when he came to know about Varad’s situation, his team spoke to GiveIndia so that some help could be offered for the surgery. Adding that he is happy that the surgery was successful, Rahul hoped that the young boy will achieve his dreams in the future.

“When I came to know about Varad’s condition, my team got in touch with GiveIndia so that we can help him in any way we could. I am glad that the surgery was successful, and he is doing well. I hope Varad gets back on his feet at the earliest and goes on to achieve his dreams. I hope my contribution inspires more and more people to come forward and help those in need,” said KL Rahul as quoted by India Today.

And, Varad’s mother thanked KL Rahul for donating the amount for her son’s surgery. Varad’s mother also said that if not for Rahul, the surgery would not have been conducted in a successful manner.

“We are thankful to KL Rahul for donating such a large amount for Varad’s surgery. But for him, it would have been impossible to carry out the bone marrow transplant in such a short period of time. Thank you, Rahul,” said Varad’s mother.

Also, the CEO of Give India, Sumit Tayal thanked Rahul for giving a new lease of life to Varad. Tayal concluded by stating that when an icon like Rahul donates a large sum of money, it inspires people to help those around them who are in need.

“We thank K.L. Rahul for his generosity that will give a new lease of life to young Varad. When a cricketing icon like Rahul comes forward and donates such a large amount to save someone’s life, it can inspire millions to open their hearts and give to those in need,” concluded Tayal.
