Shai Hope

The Beginning

Hope started his cricketing lessons in England. He completed his schooling at Bede’s Senior School in East Sussex, England under the guidance of former Sussex captain Alan Wells. Initially, he was inclined to qualify and represent England in international cricket. Meanwhile, his elder brother Kyle Hope had already made his debut for West Indies. At the age of 21, Shai was called into the West Indies squad after he scored a double century against the Windwards Islands at the Kensington Oval on the last day of the 2014–15 Regional Four Day Competition. This was tournament’s only double-hundred. He then made his Test debut in 2015 and soon found a place in shorter formats as well.
