Longest T20I series winning streaks at home

Winning games in away conditions gives a sense of happiness and joy, but defeating the visitors and winning at home gives a whole new level of pride. While there have been many teams who have won the fixtures and series at their home ground, there are a few who maintained a streak of winning back-to-back games to win the series consecutively and remained undefeated at home for a very long time.

3. Pakistan- 5

Pakistan’s name in the unique record list appeared because the team had not hosted many T20I series at home for many years. Between the years 2008-2018, they hosted Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, West Indies, and partially Sri Lanka as most of their home series was hosted by UAE or their opponent. Pakistan won five home series in the mentioned duration, the third-highest by any team. The winning streak began when Pakistan defeated Bangladesh at home.

2. India- 7

India’s winning streak started when the Men in Blue defeated the Bangladesh Tigers in the year 2019 by 2-1 to win the three-match series. Since then, India has hosted West Indies, Sri Lanka, England, New Zealand, and most recently South Africa. While India won all the series scheduled against the other teams, their recent assignment against South Africa ended in a draw, which means India is the team that is unbeaten at home since 2019, having won seven series. Coincidentally, India’s streak started after they finished a series against the Proteas ending in a 1-1 draw.

1. Australia- 8

The record is held by Australia, who managed to win eight T20I series in a row between 2006-2010. Australia hosted six teams – South Africa, England, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, and West Indies, during this period and clinched all the home fixtures winning a total of 10 home T20I games. Australia had been on many international tours and made a mark there as well, but they remained undefeated at home for almost four years. The streak began when Australia hosted the Proteas in 2006.
