MI New York clinched the title in the inaugural season of the Major League Cricket (MLC) following their seven-wicket win against Seattle Orcas in the summit clash. The first edition of the league had quite a few impressive performances wherein players pushed themselves both with the bat and with the ball to produce a result in their team’s favour. With that said, let us take a look at the top three wicket-takers of the MLC 2023:

3. Imad Wasim, Saurabh Netravalkar | 10 wickets

Plying his trade for Seattle Orcas in the MLC, Imad Wasim proved to be a vital asset with the ball as he claimed 10 scalps in seven appearances. In addition to this, he was also quite economical as he maintained an average economy of 6.33. Likewise, Saurabh Netravalkar emerged as Washington Freedom’s top wicket-taker in the league as he got 10 wickets at an average of 7.28.

2. Cameron Gannon, Andrew Tye | 11 wickets

Cameron Gannon donned the outfit of Seattle Orcas and was among the few bowlers with a four-wicket haul in the league. The right-arm pacer found success in the season as he claimed 11 wickets in seven matches at a decent average economy of 7.39. His teammate in Seattle, Andrew Tye too played an instrumental role in the bowling attack as he claimed 11 wickets in seven outings. However, the Aussie pacer proved to leak quite a lot of runs as he maintained an economy of 9.20.

1. Trent Boult | 22 wickets

The Kiwi pacer was bang on point for the champions MI New York throughout the season. Trent Boult featured in eight matches and was the only bowler in the league with over 20 wickets. The speedster ripped through the rival batting line-ups and claimed 22 wickets at an average of 7.39, which included three four-wicket hauls.
