Getting to the three-figure mark in any format of the game is a big achievement and it does not come easily. Many batters have been dismissed in the nervous 90s and it is a big sigh of relief from the batter’s side once they reach the century. With the amount of fitness levels needed for ODI cricket, scoring a century can be tiring, and concentration levels tend to fall apart once the 100-run landmark comes close. With all those said, here are five players with the most dismissals 90s in ODI cricket.

Jacques Kallis – 8

South African legend Jacques Kallis has been dismissed eight times in the nervous nineties in ODI cricket and is fifth on the list. Kallis is regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders the game has ever seen and he had a terrific 50-over career. With 11579 runs in 328 ODIs at an average of 44.36, Kallis scored 17 centuries and 86 half centuries in his ODI career.

Aravinda de Silva, Nathan Astle, Grant Flower – 9

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Aravinda de Silva features in the list with nine 90s in his ODI career from the period of 1984 to 2003. With 9284 runs in 308 games at an average of 34.90, de Silva played an immense part in Sri Lanka’s first World Cup victory in 1996 and has been seen as a hero in the country.

Former New Zealand cricketer Nathan Astle was also dismissed nine times in the nervous 90s in ODI cricket. Astle was a handy all-rounder from the period of 1995 to 2007, where he played 223 ODIs as an opener. He scored 16 centuries and 41 half centuries in his ODI career and retired from the game in 2007.

Tied with de Silva and Astle, former Zimbabwean cricketer Grant Flower was also dismissed nine times in the 90s in ODI Cricket. The right-hander had the ability to bowl handy left-arm spin and did score six ODI centuries alongside 40 half centuries with the bat.

Sachin Tendulkar – 18

Regarded as one of the best batters to have played the game, Sachin Tendulkar was dismissed 18 times in the nervous 90s in ODI Cricket. The right-hander, who scored a whopping 100 international centuries, holds most of the records in the books and most often, he has had tough umpiring decisions which had cost his wicket as well.
