Most ODI centuries after 2019 World Cup

Babar Azam

Ever since the conclusion of the 2019 World Cup in England & Wales, many new batters have emerged on the big stage. While batting megastar Virat Kohli has witnessed a slump in form across formats since November 2019, there have been a few batters who have maintained consistency in the 50-overs format scoring centuries at regular intervals.

Without further ado, here’s a look at three of them.

3. Paul Stirling-5

The explosive Irish batter Paul Stirling happens to be one of the top 10 scorers in the T20 Internationals. Moreover, he has also maintained consistency in One Day Internationals as well with his amazing batting abilities. While Stirling became the first cricketer from Ireland to complete 5,000 runs in One Day Internationals during a game against the West Indies in January this year, he also has gone on to register five One Day centuries to his name after the conclusion of the 2019 World Cup.

2. Shai Hope- 7

Shai Hope has turned out to be one of the heart and soul of the West Indies batting line-up and it is difficult to stop him once he gets set. After being named Cricketer of the Year, ODI Cricketer of the Year and ODI Player of the Year at the Cricket West Indies’ awards, Hope has only been consistent over the years in this format.

In fact, Shai Hope has the joint-highest number of centuries (7) in One Day Internationals after the conclusion of the 2019 World Cup. While two of them have come against India in 2019 and 2022 and two each against Sri Lanka (2020, 2021) the others have come against the likes of Afghanistan, Netherlands and Pakistan.

1. Babar Azam- 7

Babar Azam needs no introduction. He has been scoring runs consistently in the last three years and has gone on to shatter several batting records this year. The Pakistan skipper occupies the top spot in the ODI and T20I rankings for batters.

As far as his consistent performances in One Day Internationals is concerned, Babar has scored seven centuries in the 50-overs format since the 2019 World Cup and is currently tied in this elite list along with West Indies batting sensation Shai Hope.
