Most runs in IND-PAK World Cup T20I encounters

India and Pakistan will square off against each other in the T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 stages at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23. The rivalry between these two teams at ICC events has been one of the most exciting fixtures over the years and another terrific encounter is on the cards for the fans. India has had the upper hand in the overall meetings between the two sides, but Pakistan broke the unbeaten streak in the previous T20 World Cup 2021. Here are three batters with the most runs in IND-PAK T20 World Cup encounters.

Misbah-ul-Haq

Misbah-ul-Haq might have retired from the game but his performances still remain in the hearts of the fans. Right from the half-century he scored in Durban in 2007 in the group stages to the 43 run-knock he played in the finals of the edition, Misbah has made a great impact in India-Pakistan games. The right-hander played just two games against India and scored 96 runs at an average of 48 in T20 World Cups and had a strike rate of 131.

Shoaib Malik

Shoaib Malik has not had the best of times against India in T20 World Cups, however, he is still the second-highest run-scorer in India-Pakistan games in the tournament history. Malik has been part of the India-Pakistan games in the T20 World Cups since the maiden edition and he has managed to score 100 runs in five innings. The upcoming game in MCG will be the first time Malik will not be a part of a T20 World Cup game between India and Pakistan.

Virat Kohli

Without any doubt, Virat Kohli leads the race from India for the most runs in T20 World Cups against Pakistan and he has cherished the challenges against the Men in Green. The 33-year-old has scored 226 runs in four innings in India-Pakistan games in T20 World Cups and has scored two fifties in the process. He is likely to add some more runs to the list in the upcoming fixture.
