Over the years the world has witnessed numerous Indian batters stamping their authority on bowlers with their stupendous performances. The country was mostly known for producing the most technically correct batters who could bat in any conditions. However, since the introduction of T20Is, the nation has also produced some of the fiercest hitters of the cricket ball who have a knack for hitting the ball a long way. On that note, let’s take a look at the top three batters with the most sixes for India in T20Is:

3. Suryakumar Yadav (104 sixes)

Ever since his debut in 2021, Suryakumar Yadav has taken the cricketing fraternity by storm with his mind-boggling shots. The 32-year-old may have made his international debut too late but he is making the most of the opportunities presented to him so far. SKY, as he’s lovingly called by his fans, is the number one T20I batter in the world with 1841 runs to his name from 53 matches. Much of his scoring came from gigantic sixes as he smacked 101 maximums in his career so far.

2. Virat Kohli (117 sixes)

Virat Kohli is arguably the best batter T20Is has witnessed ever since the format’s inception due to his ability to chase down massive targets with utmost ease. Kohli finished as the highest run scorer (excluding qualifying matches) for three consecutive World Cups in 2014, 2016, and 2022 respectively.

He’s currently the most prolific batter in the format with 4008 runs to his name from 115 matches at an average of 52.73. Known for his classy cover drives, Kohli has also unleashed his incredible hitting power time and again in the format having clobbered 117 sixes.

1. Rohit Sharma (182 sixes)

The current Indian captain is one of the greatest white-ball openers in the modern era. Rohit made his debut in T20Is way back in 2007 and announced his arrival in style with a sensational half-century. With age, he even learned to convert fifties into hundreds as he now has breached the triple-figure mark most times in T20Is (four). Rohit sits on the second spot in the list of most runs in the format having 3853 runs to his name from 148 matches at an average of 31.23 and a strike rate of 139.24.

The 36-year-old not only has the most sixes among Indian batters but also among all international players having launched the ball into the stands on 182 occasions.
