Most T20I dismissals on single-digit scores

Batting in T20 cricket is a double-edged sword, while it is rewarding for the batters, taking risks and attacking from the ball, can prove costly quite often. Several skilful batters have been guilty of trying to outmuscle bowlers without getting their eye in, costing them their wicket. Here are the batters with the most single-digit scores in T20Is.

Mushfiqur Rahim (Bangladesh) – 38 times

Bangladesh’s fourth leading run-getter in T20Is, Mushfiqur Rahim’s stint with the national T20I team has largely been a struggle. The diminutive batter is one of their best in the longer formats of the game but never found his feet in T20 cricket. He has featured for the Men in Green in 110 matches, scoring runs at a lowly average of 19.93 and striking the ball at just 115.44, and to further add to his woes, he has been dismissed with less than ten runs to his name on 38 instances.

Rohit Sharma (India) – 41 times

Rohit Sharma’s name in this list is bewildering since he is the leading run-getter in T20Is and one of the most destructive batters in the game. But the Indian skipper has been guilty of playing loose shots against the new ball bowlers at times. His naturally attacking instincts have also led to his downfall, especially when fresh at the crease. The elegant batter has been sent back without breaching the ten-run mark on 41 occasions, a relatively high number for a batter of his calibre.

Kevin O’Brien (Ireland) – 42 times

One of the most adored Irish cricketers in the world, Kevin O’Brien, is as destructive on the field as he is polite with the microphone in hand. The brute of a battery has bludgeoned numerous bowlers during his stint with the national T20I team and was assigned the role of a finisher for the team given his batting prowess. But the batter has been guilty of being reckless frequently and also holds the infamous record of being dismissed on a duck most times in T20Is along with failing to reach the double digits the most times, 42.
