Most Test runs for India outside Asia

India has gifted several batting talents to the cricket world who have etched their names in the history books with their stupendous performances. However, there has been a common problem with most Indian batters as they have excelled in Asian spin-friendly conditions but struggled with pace and swing overseas. Despite that, there have been a few players who have reigned supreme in all conditions and dominated the opposition. On that note, let’s take a look at the top three Indian batters who’ve scored the most runs outside Asia:

3) VVS Laxman (4105 runs)

Laxman was often entrusted to bail the side out of trouble after a batting collapse and the Hyderabad-born batter delivered more often than not with his ‘very very special’ knocks. The right-handed batter scored 4105 runs outside Asia at an average of 42.31 with eight hundreds and 25 fifties to his name. Laxman enjoyed batting the most in Australia where he amassed 1236 runs at an average of 44.14 scoring four hundreds and four fifties.

2) Rahul Dravid (5895 runs)

One of the most dependable batters in the history of Indian cricket, Dravid takes the second spot with 5895 runs to his name outside Asia at a staggering average of 54.58 (highest by any batter with over 300 runs). The Indore-born batter got 14 hundreds and 31 fifties outside Asia. The country where Dravid loved to bat the most was England where he scored 1376 runs at an average of 68, smashing six hundreds.

1) Sachin Tendulkar (6247 runs)

Arguably, the greatest batter of Indian cricket rightfully takes the top spot with 6247 runs to his name in 77 matches at an average of 50.37 with 18 hundreds (most) and 30 fifties. Like Dravid, Tendulkar also enjoyed batting outside Asia as he got 1575 runs to his name in England at an average of 54.31 with four hundreds and eight fifties. He also boasts an average of 53.20 in Australia with 1809 runs which includes six hundreds and seven fifties.
