Most wickets by pacers in Test cricket

England completed a thumping victory over South Africa in the third and final Test match of the series played in London. Senior pacer Stuart Broad had an excellent outing with the ball as the right-arm pacer took seven wickets for his team and helped The Three Lions to clinch the series. Broad also achieved a landmark in the Test match as he became the second highest wicket-taker in the Test arena in the pace department. On that note, let us take a look top three pacers with the most wickets in the Test arena:

3. Glenn McGrath (563 wickets)

Former Australia pacer Glenn McGrath comes third in the list after scalping a total of 563 wickets. McGrath had the ability to bowl with consistent lines and lengths which created a lot of problems for the opposition batters. The veteran pacer was one of the competitive players to represent Australia and will go down as one of the best pacers to represent Australia.

2. Stuart Broad (566 wickets)

As mentioned above, Stuart Broad surpassed McGrath in the third match as he now has a total of 556 wickets in the Test format. The right-arm pacer has been a consistent performer for the English side in the longest format of the game. Broad will definitely look to reach the 600-wickets mark before retiring from the game.

1. James Anderson (667 wickets)

England’s veteran pacer James Anderson comes first in the list after scalping a total of 667 wickets in the format so far. Despite playing the game for so many years, fitness has never been an issue for Anderson as the right-arm pacer has his eyes on scalping 700 wickets in the longest format of the game. Over the years, Anderson has bamboozled several prominent batting line-ups with his deadly swing bowling.
