Cricket fans must have marked their calendars as the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to get underway on March 26. The 15th season of the competition holds even greater significance as not eight but 10 teams will fight for the prestigious title. Meanwhile, #YehAbNormalHai! Is the official hashtag of this year’s IPL and the same was revealed on Friday (March 4).

The official Twitter page of IPL shared an advertisement on Twitter which features Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni as a bus driver-cum-conductor. The ad apparently celebrates the pagalpan (craziness) of the fans for the gala competition. Midway through the traffic, driver Dhoni stops the bus to watch an IPL game. The passengers have no complaints to make as they are happy to enjoy the game.

MS Dhoni’s new avatar is all about swag

Dhoni’s new avatar is nothing but full of swag as the clip went viral in no time. “When it’s the #TATAIPL, fans can go to any extent to catch the action – kyunki #YehAbNormalHai! What are you expecting from the new season?” read the caption of the clip.

Here’s IPL 2022 new advertisement!

Meanwhile, Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in August 2020, is now only seen in IPL. As CSK endured a horrendous campaign in IPL 2020, many questioned the wicketkeeper-batter’s place in the team. However, the veteran silenced his critics by taking the team to their fourth title in the subsequent season. Hence, CSK will step into the competition as defending champions.

Dhoni, who was CSK’s second retention after Ravindra Jadeja, will have a point to prove as his bat hasn’t talked much since the last couple of seasons. Meanwhile, IPL 2022 will be an extended affair with the final being scheduled to take place on May 29. Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are the two new teams as for the very first time since 2011, 10 teams will be in action in an IPL season.
