I haven’t thought about my future as the Indian head coach: Rahul Dravid

Indian team played the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where the Australian team secured a comfortable six-wicket victory. Travis Head’s brilliant century and crucial partnership with Marnus Labuschagne were the defining factors in Australia’s win.

Following the match, Indian coach Rahul Dravid addressed reporters in a press conference, stating that he has not considered his future as the Indian Head Coach. He emphasized that his full focus had been on the World Cup and the team’s efforts to win it.

During the press conference, Dravid praised Rohit’s dedication and commitment to the ODI World Cup 2023 campaign, highlighting his leadership and support for the team.

“I just think he’s given so much of his time and energy in addressing the boys. He’s always been available for any of our conversations for any of our meetings. Sometimes a lot of planning, a lot of strategy goes in, and he’s always committed to those things. He’s given a lot of his time and energy into this campaign,” said Dravid.

Despite the loss in the final, Dravid spoke highly of Rohit’s efforts and contributions

“His batting as well has been fantastic. He really set the tone for us, he wanted to play a certain way, he wanted to play in a positive, attacking brand of cricket and has been very committed to that. He wanted to lead by example and he did. I can’t speak more highly of him,” Dravid added.

India had entered their fourth ODI World Cup final with hopes of avenging their defeat in the 2003 final. But, Australia emerged victorious in Ahmedabad. With this win, Australia secured their sixth ODI World Cup trophy. It further solidified their status as a dominant force in international cricket.
