Haryana batter Rahul Tewatia registered his first first-class hundred as he scored 144 (212) against Jharkhand on Day 2 of their Ranji Trophy fixture on Saturday, February 10 in Jamshedpur. However, more than his innings, Tewatia’s new look has been going viral all over social media as Cricket Haryana posted a photograph of his magnificent hundred.
In the viral image, Tewatia can be seen sporting a moustache and batting with a cap on much like the batters of the early 1900s. The 30-year-old earlier used to keep a full-fledged beard and hence fans were a bit taken aback seeing his new look. Most people stated that he reminded them of legendary Pakistan batter Javed Miandad.
Coming back to the Jharkhand vs Haryana Ranji Trophy fixture, Tewatia walked into bat at number 7 with Haryana on 247/5 and smacked 24 fours and one sixes to race to 144 (212).
