Watch: Shubman Gill teases Mohammed Siraj during first Bangladesh Test
Team India managed to register a brilliant win in the first Test of the ongoing series against Bangladesh. Giving the visitors a target of 515 runs to chase down, team India managed to limit the side to 234 runs in the second innings and won the game by 280 runs.
However, in an unrelated moment, star batter Shubman Gill went viral after he was captured trolling Mohammed Siraj on the field.
In the video, which has been going viral all over social media, Gill was captured saying, “Mohammed Siraj official ID hai, baaki ki sab fake hain. (This is Mohammed Siraj’s official ID, the rest are fake).”
The clip’s context related to an old video that Siraj had shared on his Instagram. Many years ago, Siraj made the account and posted a video where he was seen talking about how the account was the original one, and that there were many fake ones as well.
India take on Bangladesh in Kanpur next
Speaking of the ongoing series, after having won the first Test, team India will now shift its focus onto the upcoming assignments. Both India and Bangladesh will next lock horns at the Green Park, Kanpur, from September 27.
Having won the first Test, India will hope to put in a good showing in the second Test too and register their second straight win, which will see them clinch the series. It is also worth noting that after winning the first two Tests, India and Bangladesh will shift their focus onto the shorter formats.
Both sides will face off across three T20Is to conclude the tour. However, the ongoing Test series can go on to improve both sides’ standing in the World Test Championship table.
Currently, India sit atop the standings; with 10 Tests played, India have won seven Tests, lost two, and drawn one. On the other hand, losing the Chennai Test puts Bangladesh in sixth place. With seven Tests played, Bangladesh have won three and lost four and will hope to register a win in Kanpur.
