World Cup 2023: Shubman Gill reaches Ahmedabad ahead of Pakistan game

India and Pakistan renew their storied rivalry when they clash on Saturday, October 14 in the ODI World Cup 2023. Shubman Gill, who was diagnosed with dengue before the commencement of the marquee event. He has missed India’s first couple of matches. While the Indian team travelled to Delhi to face Afghanistan, the Punjab batter stayed back in Chennai, where the ‘Men in Blue’ had faced Australia in their opening game. The move came by the team management to ensure proper and regular treatment for Gill.

As a result, the cautious seems to have helped the youngster to recover quickly and remain hopeful of being available for selection for the upcoming high-octane encounter. Hence, the Indian fans will be happy to know that the youngster has reached Ahmedabad. The Pakistan team also reached Ahmedabad on Wednesday, October 11, after spending a couple of weeks in Hyderabad.

Earlier, Shubman Gill didn’t travel with the team to Delhi as his platelet count was low and the doctors advised him to not board the flight in such a condition. He spent one night at the Kauvery Hospital, in Chennai, before being released in the morning. According to a report from Cricbuzz, doctors from the hospital recently certified that the stylish right-handed batter was fit enough to board the flight to Ahmedabad.

Gill didn’t wait too long to reach the largest city in Gujarat. He now, hopes of him making his ODI World Cup debut against Pakistan on October 14, seem to be rekindled.
