NZ vs BAN: Five players to watch out for in the 2-match Test series

Devon Conway

New Zealand and Bangladesh are all set to face each other in two Test matches starting from 1st January. Both the teams have lost their previous Test series and will aim to change the scripts this time around. Ahead of the series, let’s have a look at five players to watch out for in NZ vs BAN Test Series.

Kyle Jamieson

Ever since his debut, the pacer has been consistently performing for the Kiwis in Test cricket. The 6 feet 6 inches tall speedster can posses a serious threat to Bangladesh’s batting unit and continue his dream run in the format.

Jamieson became the fastest bowler from his country to pick 50 Test wickets during the Test series against India. He reached the feat in just 9 Tests at an average of 15.02 with 5 five-wicket hauls and a 10-for.

Liton Das

The batter is one of the most experienced campaigners. In the recent Test series against Pakistan, he finished as the second-highest run-getter of the series.

Liton Das chipped in 224 runs from the two matches at an average of 56.00. He hit an impressive century in the first innings of the first Test to hold the fort of the side. And followed it up with a half-century in the second innings.

Trent Boult

Boult can prove lethal for the opposition in the home conditions. He missed the Test series against India but is now all set to take the charge of the field. His presence furthermore strengthens New Zealand’s pace attack.

He came back to the action whilst playing in the Super Smash for the Northern Brave. His deceptive pace and ability to swing the ball both ways can be a great positive for the Kiwis to dominate the proceedings.

Taijul Islam

The left-arm spinner has stood out with the ball with his impactful performances. In the Test series against Pakistan, he picked up 10 wickets to display his flair.

The skipper has more often than not turned to him when in need of a breakthrough. Islam has made a difference for the team on many occasions and will look to reflect the same this time around.

Devon Conway

He was on the sidelines for more than a month after he suffered a hand injury in the Twenty20 World Cup semi-final. Since the past year, the batter has become one of the pivotal cogs of the team. After having missed the India tour, he will be all raring to make an impact in this series.

If he is cleared all fit for the match, he is likely to open the innings alongside Tom Latham. Conway has been impressive for the side and will be hungry to pile up big runs.
