NZ vs NED: Top 5 performers in ODI series

The just-concluded ODI series between New Zealand and the Netherlands saw the hosts completely dominate in all three matches with both the batters and the bowlers coming good. While some of the Dutch players did try their level best to offer some resistance, it just was not enough in the end.

As the one-sided series has finally come to an end, here’s a look at the top five performers in the three-match series between New Zealand and the Netherlands.

5. Kyle Jamieson

Kyle Jamieson was really impressive with the ball in hand throughout the series and picked up wickets in all matches. He finished with six wickets from three matches with three and two scalps in the first two matches.

The tall pacer registered figures of 3/45 from his 9.4 overs at an economy rate of 4.7 including a maiden in the opening game.

4. Matt Henry

Matt Henry was the most consistent performer and stood out in all the games with his consistent bowling. He finished with five wickets from two matches and could have added more to his tally had he not been benched in the second game.

Henry saved his best for the last with figures of 4/36 from 7.3 overs at an economy rate of 4.8 including a maiden.

3. Martin Guptill

This is an unlikely mention in the list but, his 106 in the dead rubber third ODI helped Martin Guptill be among the leading run scores.

Despite getting out for single-digit scores in the first two games, Guptill finished with 114 runs from three games.

2. Tom Latham

Tom Latham added finishing touches in the first ODI with eight runs and could only manage 23 in the third match. Nonetheless, his explosive knock of a 123-ball 140 is what stood out the most. He helped NZ revive their innings from 32/5 in the second ODI to smack a brilliant century. The stand-in captain finished with 171 runs from three outings.

1. Will Young

Will Young was the most consistent performer with the bat in the Netherlands ODI series. The promising batter was adjudged the Player of the Series for his outstanding performances which included two centuries.

He scored 103 and 120 in the first and third ODIs which were not only match-winning knocks but, he also finished as the leading run-scorer in the three matches with 224 runs to his name.
