Only cricketers to play 100+ matches in each format

Representing the national team is the pinnacle for every aspiring cricketer and to make more than 100 appearances for your country stands out in itself, but few players go onto to rack up a considerable amount of matches under the belt with consistent performances. Although there are numerous cricketers featuring more than 100 times in international cricket across formats, there are only two cricketers who have breached the three-figure mark for appearances in each format of the game.

Ross Taylor (New Zealand) –  Tests -112 | ODIs – 226 | T20Is – 102

Former New Zealand skipper and one of the greatest Kiwi batters of all time, Ross Taylor, was the first cricketer ever to make 100 appearances in each form of the game in the international arena. The middle-order batter, who recently bowed out from international cricket, was known for his trademark whiplash shots through the mid-wicket region. Taylor amassed over 18000 runs across formats for the Blackcaps with a total of 450 appearances in an international career that last over 16 years. The Kiwi was instrumental in New Zealand’s run-up to the final of the 2015 World Cup, which they eventually lost to rivals Australia.

Virat Kohli (India) – Tests -102 | ODIs – 262 | T20Is – 100

Ross Taylor has finally got company in this elite list as the former Indian skipper and his former RCB team-mate Virat Kohli became only the second cricketer to notch 100 appearances in all formats of the game. His 100th T20I appearance came against arch-rivals Pakistan in the ongoing 15th edition of the Asia Cup. The Indian batting ace is a proud owner of some of the most indomitable batting records in the game, but his latest achievement will surely be one of the crown jewels in his long list of achievements. The 33-year-old made his debut for the Men in Blue in 2008 and has never looked back since, winning the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Kohli has represented the Indian team in 464 matches, amassing an astonishing tally nearing 24000 runs with 70 centuries to his name.
