PAK vs WI T20I series: Five players to watch out for

PAK vs WI

As both, West Indies, as well as Pakistan, have an exciting set of players this time around, the upcoming limited-overs series between the two sides is all set to be an exciting contest. Thus, one can expect fireworks in these six white-ball games, which are to be played at the National Stadium in Karachi. Despite the abundant number of match-winners participating in this exhilarating contest between the two teams, five players could make an enormous impact on this series.

Here are 5 players to watch out for in the Pakistan vs West Indies series:

5) Babar Azam

Babar Azam

Any list showcasing world-class Pakistan cricketers is incomplete without their current skipper Babar Azam. The batting maestro has made it a habit to score runs for fun. Besides, he has a splendid record against the Windies, add to that his unreal batting record. Thus, the 27-year-old is expected to be at his best during this series.

4) Iftikhar Ahmed

Not many would have expected Iftikhar Ahmed to feature in this list. However, those who have been following his performances of late would certainly be aware of the fact that his current form has been marvellous, to say the least. The 31-year-old had an astounding season for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the previous edition of the National T20 Cup, i.e. Pakistan’s domestic competition, as he managed to score 409 runs at an average of 102.25 in just 12 games. He had a whopping strike rate of 170.41 as well.

3) Haris Rauf

After a superb performance in the ICC T20 WC 2021, a lot is expected from the Pakistan pacer. Haris Rauf has the ability to generate the extra pace and thus, can be a threat to the batters of the West Indies. The 28-year-old’s USP, however, is to bowl well at the death, which could prove to be the deciding factor during the matches.

2) Roston Chase

In the last few months, Chase has proved that he can perform in the shorter versions of the game as well. The batting all-rounder is expected to play the role of an anchor in the upcoming series and thus, a lot of responsibilities rest on his shoulders. The 29-year-old can not only score runs consistently but can also bowl a few overs for his side if needed.

1) Akeal Hosein

After an impressive performance in the ICC T20 WC 2021, Akeal Hosein seems tailor-made for the shorter versions of the game. The leggie has the ability to bowl tight lengths on a consistent basis. Moreover, when the conditions are on the slower side, he is an absolute asset.
