Reports: World Cup 2023 tickets to go on sale online from August 10

With the much-anticipated ODI World Cup 2023 a few months away, the fans would be brimming with excitement to see some of the best teams in world cricket going against each other in order to get their hands on the coveted title. Furthermore, with the schedule announced, sales for the tickets would also be expected to go live very soon.

However, recently it was stated that the schedule for the World Cup could see some changes being made, and several reports also emerged that stated that the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) looked for suggestions from all parties involved in order to fix a price for the ticket for the marquee tournament.

The report also said that the online ticket sales will go live by August 10, and by that time, the changes in the schedule will also have been made. Recently, the secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah, came forward to state that the changes in the World Cup schedule would be made very soon as up to three full member nations have requested changes in the itinerary.

“Three members have written to the ICC for a schedule change. Only the dates and timings will be changed, venues will not be changed. If there is a six-day gap between games, we are trying to reduce it to 4–5 days. The picture will be clear in three-four days. Changes will happen in consultation with the ICC,” Shah was quoted as saying by India Today.

Jay Shah had a meeting with the state associations in New Delhi on Thursday, July 27, where he asked the state bodies to share their finalized ticket prices with the board by July 31, only after which the tickets would go on sale. Furthermore, he also recently stated that the fans would need the tickets in physical form in order to enter the stadium, and the board would make it easy for the supporters by providing multiple ticket collection centres across the host cities.
