Rinku Singh replicates Kohli’s shots during Instagram live

Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh has made a name for himself in the ongoing IPL 2023 with his sensational performances. The 25-year-old made history as he smacked five consecutive sixes against Yash Dayal during Match 13 vs Gujarat Titans and scripted an improbable win for his side. Recently, Rinku was seen imitating Virat Kohli’s batting on social media.

The KKR batter was on an Instagram live with Shubman Gill who asked him to replicate some of Kohli’s shots. Rinku, who’s a left-handed batter, first played a straight drive batting right-handed and then played a cover drive as he imitated Kohli. He was later asked to play Kohli’s trademark flick shot by Gill and the batter happily obliged.

Rinku’s imitation of the star India cricketer is being loved by fans all over social media who’re showering their love on the KKR sensation.

Meanwhile, Rinku continued his brilliant form with the bat against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, April 23 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Walking in to bat at 70/4 after 8.2 overs in the second innings, Rinku played a magnificent knock of 53* off 33 balls smashing three fours and four sixes in his innings. He also got involved in a 65-run partnership with Jason Roy for the fifth wicket.

However, his knock went in vain as KKR could only manage to reach 186/8 in pursuit of CSK’s 235/4, handing them a 49-run win. In the seven innings batted in the tournament so far, he has scored 233 runs at an average of 58.25 and a strike rate of 157.43 with two fifties to his name.

Despite his brilliant run with the bat, KKR are not having a good season as they’re ranked in the eighth spot in the points table with two wins from six matches. After their miraculous win against GT courtesy of Rinku’s five consecutive sixes, the Nitish Rana-led side has lost four games on a trot.

The two-time champions will look to return back to the winning track against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday, April 26 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
