Rohit Sharma hilariously asks Babar Azam to get married in candid conversation

India and Pakistan are scheduled to square off in the second match of the Asia Cup at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, August 28. Ahead of their clash, the skippers of the two sides, Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam were seen having a candid conversation post their warm-up session where the Indian captain jokingly asked the Pakistan captain to get married before the clash.

The two teams’ eagerly awaited showdown has been preceded by several touching moments between players and supporters. A video of Babar and Indian star batter Virat Kohli greeting each other earlier in the week went viral on social media. Then it was also seen that the Indian players had a chit-chat with the injured Shaheen Afridi who has traveled with the side.

Following the conclusion of the training session on Friday, August 26, Rohit and Babar engaged in conversation, a video of which was shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s official Twitter handle. The Indian skipper can be heard telling Babar that he should get married. Rohit Sharma said – “bhai, shaadi kar lo” (Brother, get married), to which Babar nodded and replied – “Nahi, abhi nahi” (No, not now).

A mouth-watering contest on the cards

The two teams’ encounter on Sunday will be their first meeting since the T20 World Cup last year. The Babar Azam-led team upset India by winning the game by 10 wickets on the global stage last year, at the same venue where their upcoming match is scheduled – the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. It was a huge achievement for Pakistan as they claimed their first-ever victory over the Men in Blue in a World Cup match.

India will surely look to settle the scores for their humiliating loss last year. The main man, who was the reason behind India’s batting order crumbling down, Shaheen Afridi will be absent and India might look to take an advantage of that. On the other hand, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has also been ruled out and thus it will be the batters who’ll be to watch out for.
