Rohit Sharma launches cricket academy in California

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is one of the most followed cricketers all around the world. The Indian skipper has a massive fan following as fans throng to the stadium to witness his majestic strokes not only in India but overseas as well. The 36-year-old has ventured into a new journey off the field as he’s launched his Cricket Academy in California, USA named Crincinkingdom.

Notably, Crickingdom is well spread in India and is gradually spreading outside the country as well. The academy will give wings to several budding cricketers in the USA to realise their dream of playing at the highest level. Recently, the nation made its love for cricket known to the entire world with the successful hosting of the inaugural season of the Major League Cricket (MLC).

Rohit Sharma’s business partner Chetan Suryawanshi informed about the opening of the academy and shared a picture with the Indian captain and other partners with the caption, “Crickingdom Cricket Academy by Rohit Sharma in United States of America – Pre launch celebrations.”

Coming back to MLC’s inaugural season, MI New York led by Nicholas Pooran were crowned champions of the first season as their skipper played a mind-boggling innings of 137* (55) smashing ten fours and 13 sixes in the final. Courtesy of Pooran’s blitzkrieg, New York chased down the target of 184 in just 16 overs and etched their names in the history books as the first-ever champions of the Major League Cricket.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma was last seen on the field during the first ODI against West Indies as he guided India to a five-wicket win with his knock of 12*(19). With just 115 runs to get for the victory, the Indian captain didn’t open the innings and let the youngsters do the job. However, the plan backfired as India lost five wickets with 95 runs on the board forcing Rohit to come out and finish the game for his side.
