Sachin Tendulkar makes a special visit to track child development projects

As a sportsperson, Sachin Tendulkar has always believed in giving his 100% for the nation’s cause. The Indian cricket legend continues to follow the maxim outside the boundary ropes. On the special occasion of his glorious departure from international cricket, Tendulkar took stock of the projects which will nurture India’s future. He visited social projects for children that he is supporting, in various parts of Madhya Pradesh.

On 16th November 2021, Tendulkar chose to spend his day in the tribal heartlands of India. Due to the havoc of the COVID-19 pandemic, previously it had been difficult to make personal visits. With the restrictions easing up, the Indian sporting icon travelled across and physically took stock of the development.

Tendulkar greeted children in the remote village of Sewaniya in Madhya Pradesh. These children enjoy nutritious meals, and get an opportunity at complementary education and sports in ‘seva kutirs’. Parivaar, an NGO supported by the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, runs these seva kutirs for the most vulnerable tribal children.

Boosting the morale and enthusiasm of these children, Tendulkar had heart-warming interactions. He also engaged with them in some fun activities. Encouraging them to chase their dreams, the Master Blaster motivated India’s future generation. He also interacted with the young teachers at the centre and inspired them to continue the noble service of educating children. Visiting the kitchen, Tendulkar went over the process of cooking nutritious meals for the beneficiaries of the programme.

As part of his visit, Tendulkar journeyed to Sandalpur, to oversee the construction status of a school that is supported by his foundation. It is being raised in the memory of his late father professor Ramesh Tendulkar. The residential school shall provide free education for tribal girls & boys and will accommodate around 2,300 children over a span of 10 years. The Master Blaster has often spoken about his vision of turning India into a sports-playing nation and these initiatives are a part of the larger scheme.

“My father always wanted me to do something for the betterment of deprived children. I am here with Parivar Educational Society working for the deprived children to fulfil my father’s wish,” Tendulkar said.

Be it runs on the cricket ground or helping the underprivileged section of the society, Tendulkar along with his foundation is making a difference. The cricketer was actively involved in spreading awareness during the pandemic phase and made generous donations to improve the healthcare status. Away from the holy 22 yards, Tendulkar continues to service the nation with utmost sincerity.
