SL vs IND: Agarkar, Manjrekar and Ajay Jadeja to commentate in the series

Sanjay Manjrekar

The India tour of Sri Lanka’s commentary panel has been finalized. The limited-overs series will begin from July 13 and the panel includes some experienced commentators such as Ajit Agarkar, Sanjay Manjrekar, Ajay Jadeja, and Matt Floyd. These people will be in charge of English commentary during the six white-ball matches.

Apart from English, the matches will be aired in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. Mohammad Kaif, Vivek Razdan, Amit Mishra, Saba Karim, and Arjun Pandit will be seen commentating in Hindi, while Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, W V Raman, Vidhyut Sivaramakrishnan, T Arasu and S Seshadri will be the Tamil commentators. The Telugu team inlcudes Venkatapathy Raju, Gnaneshwar Rao, C Venkatesh, RJ Hemanth, Sandeep Kumar, and Vijay Mahavadi as reported by Times Now. This inclusion of Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages comes as a good news for the regional viewers as the match telecasts are usually in English and Hindi language only.

All the six limited-overs matches will be aired in all four languages and will be shown in SONY TEN 1 and SONY SIX in English and SONY TEN 3 in Hindi. The Tamil and Telugu languages will be shown in SONY TEN 4. Apart from airing matches in SONY, the live telecast can also be seen on the OTT platform, SONYLIV.

The Indian squad arrived in Sri Lanka

The Shikhar Dhawan-led India have arrived in the Island nation, albeit with no garland welcome due to COVID-19 restrictions. The players and the coaching staff are undergoing a strict quarantine of three days and are told to confide in their hotel rooms. After finishing the mandatory quarantine, the players will get into the training mode and will be part of a phased-out training, before the full squad assembles to train together on July 5.

Head coach during the tour Rahul Dravid spoke about he wanted to give players a fair chance to showcase their talent ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. He also spoke about keeping an eye on few players who possibly would be included as reserve players in the squad for the showpiece event. All the 20 players will surely like to impress against a weekend Sri Lankan team.
