T20 WC 2021: IND vs SCO Preview – Emphatic victory on India’s mind ahead of Scottish clash

India finally earned two vital points in the Super 12 round beating Afghanistan by 66 runs in their previous match. However, their chances of qualification still are under dark clouds. But, to even think of that, they need to beat Scotland, who they are going to face on November 5. India would be desperate for a win, and more importantly a big win.

On the other hand, Scotland almost gave a scare to the New Zealand team in their previous match and ended up losing by just 16 runs. They have not won a single match in the main round so far, but this tournament could be more about the experience than anything else for them. Nevertheless, it should be a great opportunity for the Scots to get some recognition.

Head to head:

These two sides have met once in T20Is before but that game got abandoned due to rain. The match was a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup group stage.

Team News:

India: After their strange decision to change the opening combination against New Zealand, India returned to the old ways and made Rohit Sharma open with KL Rahul. The plan obviously worked. Suryakumar Yadav also played their last game after missing the match before that. Varun Chakravarthy sat out for Ravichandran Ashwin, a decision that also worked well. There are no injuries being reported within the group, which means that they should be playing with the same XI.

Scotland: Skipper Kyle Coetzer was back for their last game against New Zealand after missing the game before due to a niggle. There are no injury concerns at this moment, which might make them play with the same XI.
