T20 World Cup 2022: Batters with most fours

T20 cricket is all about scoring runs at a fast rate with the help of fours and sixes. The first six overs (powerplay) and the death overs (16-20) are when a player looks to go for a full monty. Sending the ball to the ropes and finding the gaps are the skills that a batter possesses. In the recently concluded T20 WC 2022, a few prominent names struck boundaries consistently throughout the campaign and they feature in this article.

3.Jos Buttler (24)

England skipper Jos Buttler led his side to a historic T20 WC triumph after beating Pakistan by five wickets in the grand finale at the Melbourne Cricket Ground as England became the first team to hold both ODI and T20 WCs at the same time. Buttler handled the dual responsibility of captaining and scoring runs almost perfectly as he also smashed 225 runs in six innings at an average of 45.00 with two half-centuries. In terms of fours, he hit the third-most fours (24) in the competition with seven sixes also to his name.

2.Virat Kohli (25)

Virat Kohli ended the campaign with the most runs (296) to his name. Kohli loves playing in the T20 World Cups and this tournament was no different. The right-handed batter slammed 296 runs in six innings at an average of 98.66 with four half-centuries. During the course of the campaign, he also became the first player to reach the landmark of 4000 runs in T20 internationals. Speaking about the fours, he hit 25 fours to occupy the second position along with eight maximums.

1.Suryakumar Yadav (26)

Kohli’s teammate Suryakumar Yadav has taken T20 cricket to a different level with his 360-degree style of play. His range of shots is already being compared with South Africa’s legendary batter AB de Villiers. He smacked the most fours (26) in the campaign to top the chart. In six innings, the right-handed batter struck 239 runs at an impressive average of 59.75 and a healthy strike rate of 189.68. The 32-year-old Mumbai batter hit three half-centuries and nine maximums in team India’s journey till the semi-final.
