Three Captains with the most wins in T20I cricket

Be it any format of cricket, captaincy is a challenging job that can affect the performance of several players. On the other hand, any cricket player would consider it a huge honour to captain their national side at an international level. But at the same time, the player has to stand up to the expectations of not just the management, but also the entire nation. There have been a few players who have been icons in the field of cricket, especially while leading their teams.

3. Aaron Finch- 36 wins

The Australian star recently announced his retirement from the ODI format, but his achievements in the T20Is have been magnificent, the most recent one being the T20I World Cup victory in 2021. Having led Australia in 65 games, Finch has managed to take the team to 36 wins and has a win percentage of 56.34.

2. MS Dhoni- 41 wins

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of the best captains in history, is the next name on the list. Dhoni began his tenure as the Indian T20I team’s captain in 2007 and held the position until 2016 when he announced his retirement from the format. He led the team in 72 games, of which India won 41, as he had a win percentage of 59.28.

1. Asghar Afghan and Eoin Morgan- 42 wins

The former Afghanistan skipper and the former English skipper both have led their respective sides to 42 victories. While Asghar has won 42 of the 52 matches he played as a captain, Morgan has led the team in 72 games and won 42 of those. Of the two, Asghar has a better win percentage of 81.73 as compared to Morgan’s 60.56.
