Three pace bowling all-rounders who can make it to the Indian ODI team

A pace-bowling all-rounder has been an incredible rarity in Indian cricket. With Hardik Pandya struggling due to injuries, India are in dire need of pace all-rounder for their ODI squads. Here are three such options who can take Pandya’s place in playing eleven and play a similar role.

3. Shivam Dube

The fast bowling pacer Dube received the debut cap for India in both ODI and T20I formats in 2019. He has donned the India jersey in 12 T20I matches with five wickets on his name and has featured in single ODI vs West Indies. Recently he was plying his trade with RCB in IPL 2020, where he played 11 matches to pick four wickets and scored 129 runs. With his seam bowling all-round capabilities, he is touted as a future star in Indian cricket.

2. Vijay Shankar

Shankar has had a decent international experience so far with the Men in Blue since 2017. He has been part of 12 ODI matches and 9 T20I events. Much to everyone’s surprise, he was named in India’s squad for the 2019 WC, and ICC named him under five surprising picks of the tournament. However, he took a wicket at his very first ball and became the third cricketer to do so in World Cup events. The Tamil Nadu all-rounder can be considered for the pace all-rounder option in the ODI squad in India.

1. Harshal Patel

Captain of Haryana in Ranji cricket, Harshal Patel is considered as a fine all-rounder in the domestic circuit. He caught the eyes of selectors with some mind-blowing bowling performances in first-class cricket. He has been in action in 64 matches in first-class games and has 1363 runs and massive 226 wickets under his belt. With wickets raining in his account, he bagged the IPL contract by RCB and is now with DC. He has picked 12 five-wicket hauls so far in FC cricket. With his sheer class, he can definitely be considered as one of the pace all-rounder options in the Indian ODI lot.
