Three uncapped players who may receive India cap against Sri Lanka

IPL

The Indian cricket team is set to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is in Sri Lanka in July this year. While the Indian Test team will be on England tour for the five-match Test series, a second-string limited-overs squad will be sent for the island tour. This will present a chance for a lot of new faces to feature for India in International cricket for the first time. In this article, we will be listing out 3 uncapped players who can get a chance in the Sri Lanka limited-overs series in July.

Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan put up an impressive performance in IPL 2021 picking up 14 wickets in 8 games. He was the second-highest wicket-taker in this season of the tournament. His skills particularly in death overs make him a good contender for the Indian bowling line-up. He has also been consistently bowling at a good pace which makes his case further strong.

Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been doing well for the Chennai Super Kings team since the last IPL. He has scored 400 runs in 13 games he has played in the league. He won three consecutive player of the match awards in IPL 2020 and also played excellent knocks in the league this year. Gaikwad has regularly been part of the India A squad and has done well for the team in list A matches. This makes him a good contender for the Indian top order in its tour to Sri Lanka.

Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia was chosen in the Indian T20 squad against England earlier this year. However, he did not get a chance in the playing XI in any of the games. He can be a good asset as a bowler and an aggressive hitter for the T20 team. It is expected that Rahul Tewatia will be chosen again in the T20 team for the Sri Lanka tour.
