Mishra shines in Delhi’s win

Amit Mishra’s excellent spell with the ball allowed Delhi to comfortably beat the five-time IPL champions on Tuesday night. The 38-year-old IPL veteran scalped 4 wickets in the 4 overs that he bowled, and gave away runs at an economy rate of just 6 runs per over. His spell helped Delhi restrict Mumbai to 137/9. Apart from Mishra, Avesh Khan scalped a couple of wickets as well.

On the batting front, it was Dhawan once again who spearheaded the run chase for Delhi. Opening the batting, the 35-year-old scored a patient 45 off 42 deliveries to help his side go past the target with 6 wickets and 5 balls to spare. Apart from Dhawan, Steve Smith and Lalit Yadav contributed 33 and 22 respectively. Mishra was named the Player of the Match for his exemplary performance with the ball.

The Delhi Capitals have started their 2021 IPL campaign in excellent fashion, and are now placed at 2nd place in the points table after registering 3 wins from 4 matches. On the other hand, the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians are occupying 4th place in the points table after registering 2 wins in 4 matches so far.
