WI vs IND: 2nd T20I Preview – Indian youngsters seek series equalizer

The breathtaking T20 action will continue in India’s tour of the West Indies as two teams will be seen locking horns in the second T20I on Sunday, August 6 at Providence Stadium, Guyana. India will be eager to make a comeback after the four-run hammering in the first T20I. Despite having a modest target of 150, the Indian batters faltered while trying to go big and failed to occupy the crease for long.

Openers Ishan Kishan (6 off 9) and Shubman Gill (3 off 9) failed to get their team off to a great start as they could only add five runs in 2.2 overs. With the ball, Axar Patel bowled an expensive spell of 0/22 in two overs.

On the other hand, West Indies failed to finish their innings well as Shimron Hetmyer (10 off 12) failed to get going. At the top, Kyle Mayers (1 off 7) and Johnson Charles (3 off 6) failed to get going. With the ball, Jason Holder got the Player of the match for his game-changing spell of 2/19 (4 overs).

The Rovman Powell-led side will look to continue their winning momentum and put India further on the backfoot with a victory in the second T20I.

Pitch Report

A total of 11 T20Is have been played at Providence Stadium with teams chasing winning five matches while three have ended in no result. The average first innings total in nine completed innings is 145 while the highest target chased is 164.
