WI vs IND – How have current Indian ODI batsmen fared in Caribbean

ODI

With the heart-breaking exit from the 2019 World Cup still lingering in memory, India will be touring West Indies for a full-fledged tour. The trip also consists of a three-match ODI series. Few Indian batsmen have reaped great success in the past Caribbean tours. Here’s a look back on how the current Indian ODI batsmen have performed in West Indies.

Ravindra Jadeja

The all-rounder has been a part of three ODI series in West Indies. The lower-order batsman has not been successful so far. He has added only 35 runs in five innings with 15 being his highest contribution.

Kedar Jadhav

After a disappointing World Cup campaign, this West Indies tour will be very important for the middle-order batsman. His off-spin is likely to play a role on the slow and low West Indian tracks. So far, Jadhav has scored 63 runs in three innings while getting dismissed only once.

Shikhar Dhawan

India missed the left-handed opener after his spectacular century against Australia in the World Cup. Dhawan is now back in the squad and will be itching to score the runs he has missed out on. The Delhi batsman has a poor past record in West Indies. He averages just 28.18 from 11 ODIs with 310 runs. He also has four fifties in the Caribbean.

Rohit Sharma

Highest run-getter of the 2019 World Cup, Rohit Sharma will be eager to continue his great ODI run in the Caribbean tour as well. He has not played in West Indies in a bilateral series after 2013. In 10 outings, the white-ball champion has scored 378 runs with his highest score being 86 not out.

Virat Kohli
