WI vs IND: Top 5 performers from T20I series

India won the five-match T20I series 4-1 against West Indies comfortably and they ticked most of the boxes going into two major tournaments, the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup. The youngsters had their chances and head coach Rahul Dravid was quite keen on giving enough opportunities to every player until he is dropped from the playing XI. West Indies did not have the best of times with both bat and ball and they still have a lot to worry about. Here’s a look at the top performers of the series between India and West Indies.

5. Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant played a couple of impactful innings and he has adapted to his role in the middle order quite well. The left-hander has been in really good form in the last few games and his destructiveness gives him the edge over the other players. His unbeaten 33 in the third T20I helped India in the chase and also top scored in the fourth game with a 44-run knock.

4. Akeal Hossein

He could not make much of an impact down the order, however, his all-round abilities make him a strong contender for the T20 World Cup squad. He went under 7 runs per over in all four games while the other bowlers went for plenty.

3. Ravichandran Ashwin

R Ashwin was brought into the limited-overs setup after a while and he immediately impressed by being quite economical. The fact that Ashwin can bowl in different parts of the game makes him a match-winner and he is handy down the order as well. He looked in good rhythm in the series and would want to continue that form in the Asia Cup.

2. Ravi Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi had a terrific series and he took advantage of the West Indies batting lineup struggling against spin. The youngster picked up a four-wicket haul in the final game while cleaning up the tail and also picked up two wicket hauls in two other games. The leggie has made a strong statement to be picked up as the backup option for Yuzvendra Chahal.

1. Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh was the player of the series in the five-match T20I series against West Indies and he has proved to be a special talent so far. The young left-arm seamer has been sensational with both the new ball and in the death overs and has been among the wickets consistently. He has got the yorkers in his armoury and is expected to do wonders in the future.
