WI vs IND: Top three run-getters from Test series

Rohit Sharma-led team India kickstarted their ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 campaign with a bang after a resounding win in the first Test against the West Indies. However, the following Test in Trinidad was interrupted by rain. In the process, team India won the two-Test series, 1-0. Fans witnessed some exhilarating performances both with the bat and with the ball. From Yashasvi Jaiswal’s magnificent ton in the first Test to Ishan Kishan’s breezy half-century in the second, the batters seemed to be in great touch as some of them produced masterclass knocks. 3. Virat Kohli | 197 runs

Virat Kohli got off to a great start in the series as he scored 76 runs in the first red-ball match. However, it was in the second Test in Trinidad that the flamboyant batter carved out one of his finest knocks. Having played 206 balls in the match, Kohli scored 121 runs which included 11 fours. Kohli got 197 runs across the two games at an average of 98.50.

2. Rohit Sharma | 240 runs

Following an underwhelming outing in the WTC final against Australia in London, Rohit got back to his fine form against the Windies. The skipper slammed 240 runs at 80 with two fifties and one century in his account. He also had the highest strike rate among the top three run-getters with 58.82, whereas Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored their runs at strikes rates of 50.77 and 54.17, respectively.

1. Yashasvi Jaiswal | 266 runs

The 21-year-old southpaw made his debut in the longest format in the first Test. Yashasvi played a stellar knock of 171 runs off 387 balls in Dominica, which included 16 fours and a solitary six. The opener concluded the series as the top run-getter with 266 runs at an average of 88.66, including one century and one fifty.
