The Australian women again reaffirmed their status as the dominant team in world cricket after clinching their 5th World Cup crown. It was a commanding performance in front of a packed crowd at the MCG, as the hosts beat challengers India by 85 runs. Batting first, openers Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healey were the star performers as their rapid start allowed Australia to post a score of 184-4 on the board. The bowlers then followed it up with a thoroughly disciplined performance, skittling out India out for a paltry score of 99.
