Women’s T20 Challenge 2020: BCCI announces Jio as title sponsor

The third edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge is set to be played on from November 4 in Sharjah. Three teams namely, Velocity, Trailblazers and Supernovas, will fight it out for the ultimate trophy alongside the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Meanwhile, the BCCI has announced Jio as the title sponsor for the Women’s T20 Challenge.

This is a historic moment as the BCCI has signed a sponsor exclusively for the Women’s matches. Moreover, this partnership will also have the support of Reliance Foundation Education and Sports For All (RF ESA). The BCCI President Sourav Ganguly was delighted after the announcement and also hoped that the tournament inspires young girls in the country to take up the sport.

“As BCCI grows the game of cricket across all formats, one key area of focus has been to grow the women’s game. We hope the Jio Women’s T20 Challenge will inspire more young girls to take up the sport and give parents the confidence that playing cricket is a great career opportunity for their daughters,” he said according to the BCCI Press Release.
