The owners are looking to plug the gaps in their squads. USA’s Tara Norris heads to Delhi for her base price so does Laura Harris for INR 45 lakhs. Mumbai Indians go for Dhara Gujjar (INR 10 lakh). Delhi make another acquisition as they bid INR 20 lakh for Jasia Akhtar. RCB drop in and walk away with Disha Kasat and Indrani Roy. UP Warriorz make the opening and closing bid of INR 10 lakh for Laxmi Yadav. Minnu Mani is bought by Delhi for INR 30 lakh.

7:10 PM

The teams are not holding back to get their identified players. Devika Vaidya is a UP Warriorz member for a cost of INR 1.4 crore. Mumbai Indians get Amanjot Kaur for INR 50 lakh. Gujarat Giants get D Hemalatha for INR 30 lakh. UP Warriors make a last-ditch attempt as they add Lauren Bell, England’s fast bowler, to their squad. Gujarat make another buy as they sign up Monica Patel for INR 30 lakh.

7:00 PM

UP Warriorz add Kiran Navgire to their squad. Gujarat Giants sign up S Meghana. RCB make a buy as they sign Erin Burns. All players sold at their base price of INR 30 Lakhs. The next buys are as follows

Another set with lukewarm action. Titas Sidhu (DC, 25 lakhs) Parshavi Chopra (UPW, 10 lakhs), Shweta Sehrawat (DC, 40 lakhs), S Yashasri (UPW, 10 lakhs) were the only contract-winners. Rest found no bidders.

5:15 PM

We continue with the bowlers. Delhi make two quick purchases as they buy Radha Yadav and Shikha Pandey. We have a few unsold players here. Now Sneh Rana is up for bidding. Gujarat’s bid is the final bid. Marizanne Kapp causes a bidding war which ends the favour of Delhi Capitals. She fetches a stunning 1.5 crores bid.

4:47 PM

Another quick session as we go through spinners. Afy Fletcher, Alana King, Inoka Ranaweera, Poonam Yadav, Nonkululeko Mlaba and Sarah Glenn go unsold. Rajeshwari Gayakwad was the only player sold and that too for her base price. We take another break.

4:40 PM

It’s time for the fast and furious cricketers, pace bowlers. Anjali Sarvani finds a place in UP Warriorz for a cost of 55 lakhs. Ayabonga Khaka, Lea Tuhuhu, Megan Schutt, Jahanara Alam and Shakera Selman attract no bids. We move to the next set.

4:30 PM

And up next are wicketkeepers! Taniya Bhatia and Anushka Sanjeewani find no buyers interested. Yastika Bhatia will don Mumbai Indian colours for a price of 1.5 crores. Richa Ghosh, one of the most exciting talents in world cricket, sparks a bidding war. And it is RCB who wins it. Australia’s Alyssa Healy will play for UP Warriorz for a tag of 70 Lakhs. Sushma Verma and B Bezuidenhout go unsold. So does Amy Jones.

4:20 PM

It’s the all-rounder’s set now. Gujarat Giant started the action with Annabel Sutherland’s bid of 70 lakhs. Heather Knight, Sune Luus, Dani Wyatt and Chamari Athapaththu did not find any buyers. The Giants made another buy as they pouched Harleen Deol. We now have a bidding war for Pooja Vastrakar. Mumbai close the deal for 1.9 crores. Gujarat make another buy as they sign up Deandra Dottin for 60 lakhs. The set has finished.

3:50 PM

Gear up for this one! It’s Shafali Verma. The bidding war begins and it is Delhi Capitals who outbid everyone. They secure the services of India’s U19 World Cup-winning captain for a price of INR 2 crores. Tammy Beaumont goes unsold. We take a 10-minute break now.

3:45 PM

The third set includes batters. Sophia Dunkley gets the final bid of 60 lakhs from Gujarat Giants. After a lost to and fro, it is Delhi Capitals who open their account with the signing Jemimah Rodrigues. She is sold for INR 2.2 crores. Suzie Bates finds no takers. DC bag Australia’s Meg Lanning after fighting tooth and nail with MI. Tazmin Britts and Laura Wolvaardt go unsold.

3:35 PM

We have wrapped the second set of the day. Gujarat Giants made their second overseas purchase of the day as they added Beth Mooney to their roster. South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail will play for UP, she was sold for INR 1 crore. The last player of the set is New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr. MI and RCB are having a tussle in the middle. Mumbai Indians get her for INR 1 crore. And that’s the end of the 2nd set.

3:30 PM

The auction keeps moving at a rapid pace. RCB add India’s seam bowler Renuka Singh Thakur to their list for a price of INR 1.5 crores. English all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt joins Mumbai Indians for a whopping INR 3.2 crores. Up next is the Australian cricketer, Tahlia McGrath. She will play for UP Warriorz for a price of INR 1.4 crores.

We are back for the second set. First up is the Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma. Delhi Capitals are pushing hard to add Deepti to their side. The bidding has reached 2 crores. And it is UP Warriorz who swoop in. They buy Deepti Sharma for 2.6 crores.

And the first set is complete! Royal Challengers Bangalore bagged Smriti Mandhana, who was the first name out of the bag. Mumbai Indians signed up the current Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Ashleigh Gardner joined Gujarat Giants while Sophie Ecclestone was lapped up by UP Warriorz. RCB then added Ellyse Perry and Sophie Devine to their roster. We take a break now.

The first-ever auction for the Women’s Premier League is here! The mega event is taking place in the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. Five teams, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz will be building their squad in this exercise. A total of 409 players will be up for bidding.
