WTC Final: Twitter slams Vaughan for his tweet ‘India have been saved by the weather’

All the excitement among the fans and experts for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final between India and New Zealand has ben dampened by rain. The rain gods have not relented since morning in Southampton and the covers are firmly in place even as the first session of the first day has been washed out. There is a reserve day to cover up for the lost overs but certainly, rain has played spoilsport to start of the much awaited final.

Meanwhile, as the world waits for the rain to stop, former England cricketer Michael Vaughan has made sure to tease the Indian fans on Twitter. He took to Twitter some time ago to cheekily mention that the weather has saved India in the WTC Final so far. The emoji he used cleared that Vaughan was just trying to have some fun at the expense of the die hard Indian fans.

I see India have been saved by the weather …. #WorldTestChampionship,” he tweeted. As expected, the tweet went viral soon and it is needless to say that the Indian fans pounced on him for the same.

Michael Vaughan predicted New Zealand to win WTC

Earlier, Michael Vaughan had also predicted New Zealand to beat India and win the WTC Final. He had tweeted about it after the Kiwis comprehensively defeated England in a two-match Test series. Interestingly, the visitors had rested six of their preferred players and still managed to win the game easily. Looking at all the skills New Zealand possessed, he had predicted for them to beat India.

NZ are a high class team .. Read the situation with the Bat in hand, skilful with the ball & catch brilliantly .. Really fancy them to beat India next week,” Vaughan had tweeted.

Vaughan almost every time trends on Twitter for his wrong predictions. After India were bowled out for 36 runs in Adelaide Test, he was one of the former cricketers to think that the team will lose 4-0 down under. Contrary to that, India, under Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership, ended up winning the four-match series against Australia to create history.
