Yuvraj Singh signs up for Toronto Nationals in Global T20 Canada
After seeking permission from BCCI to play in foreign T20 leagues, Yuvraj Singh has now been roped in by Toronto Nationals to play in the Global T20 Canada league. Apart from Yuvraj, former Indian pacer Manpreet Singh Gony has also been picked up by the same franchise in the drafts.
Yuvraj’s association with the league will undoubtedly be a big coup for the organizers and could play a major role in the promotion of the game in the country. The involvement of Yuvraj also hints at the possibility that BCCI may have relaxed their stance on players playing in foreign leagues.
Yuvraj will not be the only big international name competing in the league consisting of six franchises. Some of the biggest superstars of the game like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Kane Williamson, Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine, Faf du Plessis, Chris Lynn and Shakib Al Hasan will also be a part of the second edition.
All the matches will be played in the suburb of Brampton, Ontario between 25 July to 11 August. The six teams involved will be Toronto Nationals, Montreal Tigers, Edmonton Royals, Vancouver Knights, Winnipeg Hawks and Brampton Wolves. All the six teams have now have a finalized roster after the drafts.
