Yuzvendra Chahal has found a method to rebuild himself: Brad Hogg

Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was excellent during the second ODI match against England at Lords, London. The leg-spinner scalped a total of four wickets and gave away just 47 runs. He also registered his name in the history books after bowling the best spell by an Indian in an ODI match at Lords. However, team India went on to lose that match by 100 runs.

Meanwhile, Australia’s spinner Brad Hogg has praised Chahal and said that he is right up there with the best. Hogg also went on to say that Chahal has adapted very well as a bowler and has found a method to rebuild himself and get back into the competition.

The former Australia spinner also went on to say that India is the favorite to win the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.

“He’s up there. I think leg-spin in T20 cricket is probably the most effective option, especially in those middle overs,” Hogg said on the sidelines of a Western Australia tourism event.

“The thing I like about Chahal is he is up there with the best, just the way he has adapted his game in the past couple of years. He had a period there where he got found out, but then he found a method to rebuild himself and get back into the contest. He has grown as an individual as well. So that’s another reason India is favorites to win the T20 World Cup, his growth over the last year or two. He is going to have a better tournament in Australia,” he added.

Hogg also talked about South Africa’s decision to pull out from the ODI fixture against the Men in Yellow in January next year with a new T20 league taking place in their country. “They (South Africa) have pulled out of the tour to Australia (ODIs) for their T20 competition, for me that is disappointing,” Hogg said.
