5 Indian bowlers with the most wickets in T20 cricket

In the ODI format, bowlers get 60 deliveries to bowl and pick up wickets. In the Test format, there is no limitation. But in the most entertaining and exciting format, the T20 format, a bowler gets only 24 deliveries to take wickets and control the flow of runs, which is why it becomes more difficult for the bowlers to survive in this format. However, some of them excel nonetheless.

5.Jasprit Bumrah

One of the premier fast bowlers in world cricket, Jasprit Bumrah is the only Indian pacer on this elite list. The right-arm pacer has taken 250 wickets in 206 matches at an average of 21.63 and strike rate of 18.4. His economy rate is just 7.02 with the best figures of 5/10. The speedster has taken five-wicket haul once and four-wicket hauls two times in his T20 career so far.

4.Amit Mishra (262)

Leg spinner Amit Mishra is the fourth name on this chart. He has played 236 T20 games and snared 262 scalps at an average of 22.61 and strike rate of 18.8. With a great economy rate of just 7.19, Mishra’s best bowling figures are 5/17. Twice the leg-break bowler has taken five-for and five times a four-wicket haul.

3.Piyush Chawla (270)

Piyush Chawla is the third Indian to feature in this list. He has played 256 matches and accounted for 270 scalps at a strike rate of 19.6 and an average of 24.38. The 31-years old economy rate is just 7.57 in this action-packed format with the best figures of 6/25. He has picked five four-wicket hauls and two fifers in his T20 career.

R Ashwin is India’s leading wicket-taker in the T20 format. He tops the chart with 274 wickets to his name in 278 games at an average of 25.25 and a strike rate of 21.8. With a solid economy rate of just 6.92, Ashwin has picked up four-wicket hauls four times with the best performance of 4/8. He is the only off-break bowler to appear in this chart.
