5 Uncapped players to watch out for in the Women’s T20 Challenge

The fourth edition of the Women’s T20 challenge begins on May 23, 2022, as Trailblazers, Supernovas and Velocity will contest in the short competition consisting of four matches, including the final on May 28. The MCA Stadium in Pune will host all the games with the second and third matches to be played on the 24th and 26th. The tournament will see a mix of international and also uncapped players taking part in it. The uncapped ones will look format to this event as an opportunity to make a mark for themselves.

Let’s take a look at 5 uncapped players to watch out for in the Women’s T20 Challenge 2022:

1.Kiran Navgire

An aggressive right-handed batter from Maharashtra, Kiran Navgire appeared for Nagaland in the recently-concluded Senior Women’s T20 league. The opening batter racked up 525 runs in seven matches, which included one century and four half-centuries with the highest score of 162*.

2.Sujata Mallik

Seam bowler from Odisha, Sujata Mallik, was tied with two other bowlers at the second spot for picking up 11 wickets in the Senior Women’s T20 league 2022. The right-arm pacer bowled 23 overs at an average of just 11.81 and an economy rate of under six runs per over which also included a four-wicket haul.

3.Maya Sonawane

Maya Sonawane has also snared 11 scalps in the recently concluded tournament. She delivered 25.1 overs at an average of 14.00 and her economy rate was just over six runs per over. The leg-spinner was the only bowler to pick a four-wicket haul twice in the competition.

4.Aarti Kedar

Aarti Kedar finished the Senior Women’s T20 league 2022 season as the highest wicket-taker. The left-arm spinner from Maharashtra bowled 28 overs and took 13 wickets at an average of 10.30. Her economy rate was just under five runs per over.

5.Muskan Malik

Right-handed batter from Uttar Pradesh, Muskan Malik scored 170 runs in five matches with one half-century to her name in the tournament. The top-order batter had a strike rate of 102 in the competition. Muskan was a part of the Supernovas squad for the Women’s T20 Challenge 2020 edition but didn’t get a single game to play.
